If so\u2026please read on!<\/h6>\n<p class=\"font_7\">Hints for blogging success:<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Select a topic that relates to the broad and varied world of blended and online learning and teaching in K-12 education. Then, write a blog post of 1000 \u2013 1500 words explicating this topic. (You may integrate several topics if you desire). To help your writing process, use the <a href=\"http:\/\/thewritepractice.com\/blog-post-elements\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-content=\"http:\/\/thewritepractice.com\/blog-post-elements\/\" data-type=\"external\">blog post template<\/a> and these <span class=\"color_14\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thewritepractice.com\/writing-a-blog\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-content=\"http:\/\/thewritepractice.com\/writing-a-blog\/\" data-type=\"external\">10 Steps<\/a><\/span> to create a blog that has a clear premise and a thoughtful discussion of this premise. In the template, the author suggests using a problem and solution(s) approach, but this may not apply to the topic you decide to explore. You may use the first person; and examples from your own teaching experiences may strengthen the development of your premise. The intended audience would be other K-12 blended and online educators &#8211; wherever they may be located.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">You may include some or all of the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">brief description of the situation in general terms<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">summary of the strengths<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">summary of improvements needed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">why this topic matters and in what manner<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">how this topic has affected your professional understanding of teaching<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">what this topic means for K-12 blended or online learners<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">recommendations of how to apply the findings within a K-12 blended or online context<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">hyperlinks to other sources that relate to the points that you are making\u00a0visuals (licensed through Creative Commons)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Make sure you include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">a catchy title<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">a brief description of the reviewer\u2019s credentials ( written in the third person)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">contact information if you want to share this with BOLT blog readers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">use subtitles to help organize your review and reduce the word count<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">use APA citation style if you are using educational research to support your thoughts; if you need assistance with APA citation, please contact the blog administrator<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"font_8\">When finished writing your blog:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"font_8\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Submit the finished piece to the blog administrator.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Wait for your contribution to the multi-authored blog to be processed by the blog administrator.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"font_8\">Share the link with colleagues so they can read your post.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you interested to write a post for the BOLT blog?
